Two La Crosse fires reported in 15 minutes Saturday morning

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Two separate fires in La Crosse were reported 2 blocks apart within 15 minutes early Saturday morning.

The La Crosse Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 514 Ferry St. in La Crosse at 4:09 a.m. Saturday. Fire units on-scene encountered a fire on the backside of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished and a quick search for occupants was conducted. Five adults and two small children were evacuated from the home. There were no injuries reported.

At 4:23 a.m. Saturday, the department got a report of another fire at 813 South 6th St. in La Crosse, just two blocks from the Ferry St. fire. Additional units were sent and when firefighters got on-scene, they saw a garage was on fire. The department quickly extinguished the fire.

Both fires are currently under investigation.
