TOWN OF PINE VALLEY, Wis. (RELEASE)-- Two people are dead after a crash Friday night in Clark County.

It happened on Hwy 10 by Sidney Avenue in the Township of Pine Valley.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of the crash around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, December 15.

The initial investigation shows a pickup driven by a 26-year-old man was traveling west on Hwy 10 when it crossed the center line by Sidney Avenue.

After it crossed the center line, it struck an east bound car head-on. The truck went in the ditch, and the car came to rest in the east bound lane.

The two female occupants in the car, a 29-year-old driver and a 35-year-old passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital for incapacitating injuries. Deputies said it's believed the driver of the truck was operating while intoxicated.

Both female occupants are from the Neillsville area. The truck driver was by himself and is from the Humbird area.

Speed, road conditions and driver impairment appear to be factors in the crash, according to deputies.

The names of everyone involved aren't being released at this time.

These are the 8th and 9th traffic fatalities in Clark County in 2017.
