UPDATE: Augusta man enters plea in attempted child sex assault case

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The man arrested after police say he tried to meet what he thought was two underage girls, is found guilty.

Jeramiha Sackman, 38, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of attempted first degree sexual assault of a child under 12. Other charges were dismissed, but read in Thursday in Eau Claire County Court.

According to investigators, Sackman responded to an ad on Craigslist, posted by an undercover Eau Claire Police detective. The detective offered sexual contact with 8 and 11 year-old-girls in exchange for money. According to the criminal complaint, Sackman agreed to meet at the Mt. Simon Park back in October. Sackman was arrested and, in his car, authorities found unopened condoms and a bank withdrawal receipt from that day just over thirty minutes before the meeting time.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 15.
