UPDATE: Man accused of Eau Claire daycare assault bound over for trial

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A judge says there's enough evidence to proceed with the case against a former daycare worker charged with sexual assault of a child.

Tyler Thompson appeared in Eau Claire County Court Tuesday.He’s charged with one count of first degree child sex assault, sexual contact with a person under the age of 13.

Thompson worked at the Learning Tree Child Care Center in Eau Claire for at least three years. According to the criminal complaint, a five-year-old girl reported to her parents she was touched by a man she identified as "Mr. Tyler" sometime last year.

The child was interviewed by a representative with the Child Advocacy Center and information gathered led to Thompson’s arrest in October.
