EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- We now know the name of the man involved in Tuesday’s officer-involved shooting in Eau Claire County.

Sheriff Ron Cramer says 23-year-old Reese Diesterhaft was shot after a chase that started in Dunn County and ended in western Eau Claire County.

Cramer says Diesterhaft was released from prison, just three weeks ago.
Deputies say Diesterhaft had stopped his vehicle, and stepped out with the weapon. Investigators say that’s when they fired at the suspect, wounding him. He was flown to an area hospital. No officers were hurt.
