Vehicle waiting for pedestrians in crosswalk gets rear-ended

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- No major injuries are reported after a two-vehicle crash in Stoddard.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 14.

The Vernon County Sheriff's Office said 27-year-old Joshua Guy of Holmen was driving on North Main Street, and rear-ended with another vehicle driven by 24-year-old Alexandria Achammer of La Crosse.

Deputies said Achammer's vehicle was stopped for pedestrians in a marked crosswalk.

Achammer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released. Joshua Guy also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and refused medical treatment.

The pedestrians, two school-age children from Stoddard, were not hurt.
