MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Gov. Scott Walker sent a letter to the U.S. Small Business Administration Wednesday, asking for federal low-interest disaster loans for people and businesses impacted by the flooding in July.
He requested the assistance for homeowners and businesses in La Crosse and Trempealeau Counties.
Earlier this month, the SBA conducted damage assessments in the two counties. Officials verified 67 homes and businesses in both counties with major damage and more than 160 homes and businesses with minor damage.
