MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- A man has pleaded guilty to charges of first degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13 and child enticement.

Friday, Attorney General Brad Schimel announced that Jacob Vogel pleaded guilty to the charges on January 3 in Buffalo County Circuit Court. Four other felonies were dismissed but read-in for sentencing.

Schimel said "Putting this man in prison is just one part of how the criminal justice system can support survivors of sexual assault."

This conviction is the result of a lengthy investigation conducted by the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with additional assistance by the Holmen Police Department.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled on March 15, 2018
