Woman accused of taking children appears in court

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- The mother accused of taking her children while not having custody of them appeared in court Tuesday.

Michelle Siegert, 29, made her initial appearance in Chippewa County Court.

She's charged with four counts including interfering with child custody.

Siegert is accused of taking her two children while not having custody of them in August.

According to the criminal complaint, Siegert admitted to taking her children who were eventually found safe in River Falls

Siegert is scheduled to be in court again next week.
