EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An event in the Chippewa Valley is helping women grow their business.

Western Dairyland held a Women's Business Networking event earlier Wednesday evening.

Women gather to share how they start, grow, and expand their businesses.

Karman Briggs, with Western Dairyland, says 40% of new businesses are being launched by women, so this event helps guide female entrepreneurs.

"The more women that kind of pave the way, the more it seems accessible for other women. It's like anything, whether you are in the Olympics or whether you are starting a business, if you don't know anybody else that's done what you want to do, it's harder to get there," explains Briggs.

The Women's Business Networking events are usually held on the second Wednesday of every month.
