MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) -- The Philadelphia Eagles won their 1st Super Bowl in team history as they beat the New England Patriots 41-33.
Nick Foles and his Eagles didn’t keep an early 12-point first quarter lead, but they came out on top with a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter in Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The Eagles trailed 33-32 after a Rob Gronkowski touchdown catch from Tom Brady with 9:22 left to go, but Nick Foles led his offense on a 9 minute drive to take the lead for good.
Foles won his first Super Bowl ring in his first appearance. He threw 3 touchdowns and 373 yards.
Tom Brady showed he hasn’t slowed down at 40 years old, throwing for over 500 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions, but the Patriots couldn’t come away with his 6th Super Bowl win.
Former Wisconsin Badgers running backs, James White and Corey Clement, both scored touchdowns for their respective teams.
