“I just wanted to help because I love animals, and that's my passion,” says rising country star Miranda Lambert.

Lambert says though she sings her heart out every night on stage, her heart belongs to these furry guys.

“I adopted a dog named Delilah five years ago from a shelter in east Texas and it just kind of sparked interest in me. I knew the shelter needed help and they were run strictly on donations,” she says.

During her breakout year, Lambert started the Mutt Nation Foundation, which helps raise money for shelters around the country—Including the local Bob's House for Dogs.

“Working with Bob's House was a great opportunity for me to promote rescue animals,” says Lambert.

Bob's House sold tickets for a meet and greet chance with Lambert, and owner Travis Quella got the chance to thank her in person.

“Three years ago, I would have laughed at the thought,” he says when asked if he’s shocked of a celebrity helping out his cause. “But we're getting to the point where we've established ourselves and proven ourselves, and it feels very good.”

And while Bob's House got its day to shine with Lambert, she says she hopes every dog across America gets its day.

“That's what I’m all about, is getting people aware of the adoption option,” she says.

Bob's House for Dogs says they raised thousands of dollars with Lambert’s help yesterday.
