The Eau Claire Express got three hits each from Jonathan Merritt and Kole Calhoun while Express pitcher Eddie Gamboa picked up his first win of the summer, hurling seven-plus innings of 1-run, 7-strike out ball as Eau Claire improved to 3-and-1 to start the second half, and 20-18 overall. The Express take the next three days off for the 2007 Northwoods League all-star game in Mankato, returning to action Friday night when Eau Claire continues their six-game homestand with the first of two with the Duluth Huskies. Game time Friday at Carson Park is 7 pm.
