Wisconsin and other states in the Upper Midwest are being bombarded with television advertising from presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain.

A report released Wednesday by the Wisconsin Advertising Project shows that the most money has been spent on TV ads so far in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan. Wisconsin is sixth on the list.

The report by the group based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison looked at ads that ran between the end of the primary season on June 3 and July 26.

It found that Obama has spent more than $27 million while McCain has spent more than $21 million. Combined, more than 100,000 ads have run. That compares with just 77,000 over the same period in 2004.
