It's the holidays, and even if it's been a while since you've had little kids in the house, there are some things we need to watch for if your littlest family members are coming to visit.

Jeannie Pittenger, with Safe Kids Chippewa Valley is here to show us some childproofing anyone can use.

Doorknob protectors for closet doors, basement doors.
Cupboard door locks for cabinets with cleaning supplies, medicine, anywhere they can reach.
Outlet covers for unused outlets.
Spoons that tell you if food or drink is too hot for kids.
A rubber ducky that tells you if bath water is too hot.
Safety covers for bathtub facets.

Carbon monoxide detectors are good for everyone, not just when kids are coming. You should have one on each floor.

Always smoke outside and even change your clothes if they smell like smoke.

If you travel with kids, make sure you have the proper safety seats and never leave kids in the car alone.

Always make sure you have the poison control number and other emergency numbers at hand.
