Organizing Tips from Straighten-Up Organizing owner Nancy Rothwell:

*Touch Everything and decide if you need it or not.
*Create two sets of files: Reference and Active
*Reference Files: The ones you don't need daily
*Active Files: The ones you need often
*Sort files by category and what you need to do with them
(example: Lions Club folder can stand alone as well as go within a "To Read" file)
*Throw Extra Papers/Envelopes: They take up room
*Junk Mail and Mail: Sort by what you have to do with it
*Credit Card Offers: Send it back with a note "take me off"
*Magazines: Keep them in one spot
