McNamara Initial

A shooting incident that took place Monday in Eau Claire County has resulted criminal charges and a restraining order. The charges are being filed against twin brothers from Florida, including the one who was shot.

Fifty-four-year-old Michael L. McNamara made his initial court appearance Wednesday in Eau Claire County Court. He's charged with two counts of being party to the crime assaulting his daughter and her husband.

According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a responded to a residence in the Town of Ludington, where Noel and Matthew Erickson claim to have been verbally abused and then assaulted by the McNamaras, Michael and John.

Noel claims she shot her uncle, John McNamara, because he would not stop choking her husband, and he then came after her.

John McNamara claims he was shot when he challenged Noel, and he choked her in response to being shot.

He did not appear in court. His medical condition is unknown.

A $5,000 signature bond has been issued, and the brothers will appear in court at the end of the month.
