The Bolton Refuge House is getting a $1,000 donation for a new garden from an Eau Claire business.
Shopko in Eau Claire is providing the donation. Shopko says it decided to make the donation to the shelter because one of the store managers is working with the organization to plant a healing garden at the house. The refuge house says the new garden will be a nice addition.
Bolton Refuge House Director Gerry Wilkie said "Its going to be a very nice place for women to be able to sit, relax, think, and at the same time watch this children play in the same area."
The Chippewa Falls Shopko also donated $1,000 to Starting Points on Monday for opening the homeless shelter, Harmony House.
