MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Most city employees in the state's largest city will be furloughed on Friday.
The majority of Milwaukee city services will be shut down that day as part of a mandatory furlough program, and most city employees will not report to work.
But essential services, like police, fire and parking enforcement, will continue.
Garbage and recycling won't be collected either on Friday but will resume Tuesday after Labor Day.
City hall and other city offices will be closed. Normal business hours resume Tuesday.
