MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Madison pharmacist who has served on the University of Wisconsin Foundation is accused, along with a Middleton man, of importing and selling millions of counterfeit Viagra pills and other fake drugs.
55-year-old Marla Ahlgrimm and 63-year-old Balbir Bhogal are jailed in Dane County with a court hearing expected Friday.
Ahlgrimm owns Women's Health America and pharmacies that provide hormone replacement therapy. Ahlgrimm served on the UW Foundation for more than a decade and has been recognized locally and nationally for her business and civic accomplishments.
Federal prosecutors allege Ahlgrimm and Bhogal imported pills from India that looked like real drugs and sold them to an Internet pharmacy service, among others.
Defense attorney Timothy Edwards did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
