Keg Tapped for Oktoberfest
The golden keg has been rolled out and the new festmeisters are crowned. Oktoberfest has begun in Chippewa Falls.
A small ceremony at the Leinenkugel Brewery Friday afternoon, kicked things off.
The event's first festmeister and festmeisterin named their successors. And a parade, with polka music, early festgoers, and the keg carried in a horse-drawn wagon, went on to the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, where activities will take place through Sunday.
