More People Voting Absentee Ballot

Eau Claire city officials are busy taking a high number of requests for absentee ballots. City Election Clerk Carol Schumacher says she's received nearly six hundred requests already.

Nationwide it's estimated nearly 20 percent of Americans will vote by absentee ballot. Though there are concerns in other states about possible voter fraud, Jay Heck of Wisconsin Common Cause, a non-partisan voter advocacy group, says Wisconsin's system is secure.

If you'd like to vote by absentee ballot, you can vote in person up until the day before the election at City Hall. You can also request a ballot be mailed to you by sending a signed, written request. Those ballots must be into City Hall by Election Day.
