Charges have been filed against a former Rusk County insurance seller who lost his license after bilking residents from several counties out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

54-year-old Thomas Mikunda formerly of Bruce is charged with sixteen criminal counts including; theft, filing false tax returns, unfair trade practice and obstruction of justice.

Mikunda allegedly duped close to 100 elderly residents in Rusk, Barron, Sawyer and Chippewa Counties. He could face close to 100 years in prison.

He is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court in November.
