The Wisconsin Women's Bowling Association Senior Bowling tournament is in Eau Claire for the second time in three years.
Opening ceremonies were held at Wagner's on Friday, with 82-year-old Dorothy Mercier throwing out the ceremonial first ball. With the help of her granddaughter, she knocked over seven pins.
"I'm excited," she said. "I don't know if it's worse to do something in front of strangers or people you do know, but it's an honor to do it."
The bowlers compete for cash, as well as four paid entries to a national senior tournament at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada.
