It's estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition.
In western Wisconsin, a local food bank helps to keep those numbers down. This week, TV-13 and Gordy's County Market stores are teaming up in a food drive called "TV-13's Chippewa Valley Harvest.
The "Feed My People Food Bank" supplies food to more than 50 agencies in 14 western Wisconsin counties. Emily Moore, executive director of the food bank, says food goes out to places like the Bolton Refuge House, Triniteam, or regular food pantries.
Through the week of October 4th, Gordy's County Markets in Chippewa Falls and near Lake Wissota will be collection sites for checks and non-perishable food items.
Items can also be dropped off at WEAU at 1907 South Hastings Way in Eau Claire from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. or from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
