Packer Ticket Scam

Officials at the state Office of Consumer Protection are warning of the annual attempts by scam artists to con Internet users into buying bogus Green Bay Packer tickets.

Nobody's been taken yet, but officials don't think it'll stop them from trying again and again.

Two scams popped up recently; one involving someone claiming they were selling their rights to Packer season tickets on ebay. The other solicited fans in chat rooms through instant messaging.

"With the Packer tickets, you need to make sure it is an approved site with the Green Bay Packers or a legitimate site," said Consumer Specialist Cindy White.

While Internet shopping always comes with some risk, experts recommend looking for Web sites with a padlock symbol, or companies affiliated with the National Association of Ticket Brokers when buying tickets online.
