10th Annual Women’s Business Conference held Thursday

(WEAU) - Hundreds of women converged on Eau Claire Thursday to talk business.

It was the 10th Annual Women's Business Conference, held at the Plaza hotel and suites. The event, which is sponsored by the Western Dairyland Women's Business Center, is designed to assist women who are starting, improving or expanding a business.

Director of Jobs and Business Development with Western Dairyland Karman Briggs says with this being the 10th year, they are seeing businesses that got started with help from the conference come back as contributors. "I’ve had woman tell me 'the day I went to the women's conference is the day I started my business. That's the day I found my first costumer. That's the day I found ... The person who became my lender. I was able to put all those business resources together,'" Briggs said.

The conference, which is the only one of its kind in the state, included educational sessions, roundtable discussions, networking opportunities and business counseling.
