Project Childsafe travels across the country to hand out gunlocks and educational materials in an effort to raise awareness about firearm safety.
The project partners with area law enforcement and is designed to make area homes safer for children.
Tour organizer Frank Walker says once the cable-style lock is in place, guns are unable to be used.
"If it prevents one accident or keeps one person from being killed them it seems the whole project to be worth it," says Walker.
If you missed Thursday's event, local law enforcement also has a supply of the gunlocks to give away.
