SGI in Chippewa Falls is producing products that could change the way oil is found.

There doing it by using a 3-D virtual reality drilling machine. Here's what it does. It finds oil faster and more efficiently, which means bringing more oil on-line and to market faster.

Before the technology, oil companies only had a 10 percent success rate at finding oil wells.

Now, with virtual reality they've increased that percentage to 70 percent. It's better because instead of wasting money on drilling several wells, they find the well with the most oil, faster.
