Democratic State Representative Frank Boyle of Superior wants the state to get tougher on trespassing violations in the wake of the killings of six hunters in Sawyer County in November.

Boyle says police should get tougher when it comes to prosecuting violators. Boyle made his remarks after it was disclosed that Chai Vang of St. Paul had failed to pay trespassing fines in another area of the state.

Vang is charged in connection with the shooting deaths of six hunters on private hunting property in southern Sawyer County. His next court appearance is set for Dec. 29, 2004.
