Last Ditch Effort

In a last ditch effort to bring another Republican into the U.S. Senate, Majority Leader William Frist spent his Wednesday afternoon in the Chippewa Valley campaigning for Tim Michels.

The Senate Candidate pledged to repeal the Estate Tax or "Death Tax" on inherited estates. Frist said being in town should show voters how good the Republicans think Michels' chances are on November 2, but there is still plenty of work to do.

"To make people who have thought about the election continue to pay attention," he said. "If they haven't paid attention, to start paying attention to see this huge contrast; this crossroads where America is today."

Michels said he'll be a champion for the American taxpayer, and that Russ Feingold has voted for higher taxes 245 times.

Opponents think getting rid of the "Death Tax" would add to the federal deficit.
