Bullets Hit Two Rural Boyd Homes

A couple in Rural Boyd hopes hunters use the utmost care while shooting targets this fall. Theirs is one of two neighborhood homes to be hit by a bullet in the past week.

Joan Shilts said a bullet drove a hole through her neighbor Kathy Ramp's garage over the weekend. On Monday afternoon around 5 p.m., she heard what she thought was the sound of something falling off the wall. She found a bullet in her living room that officers told her was used for hunting.

"I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose," she said. "They weren't aiming at our house or anything. It just happened. One of those freak accidents I suppose."

Nobody was hurt by either of the bullets. Shilts said she expects to have to pay the cost of repairing her house, even if police find whoever fired at it.
