Four suspects in court

The four Eau Claire adults arrested for staging Wednesday's robbery of a Southside Mega Mart and leading police on a high speed chase made their first court appearance Thursday.

Justin Kolm, John Auman, Lee Ware and Amanda Hodges were all charged as parties to the crime of theft. Assistant district attorney Meri Larson says she didn't bring charges of robbery because police believe the incident was premeditated involving the clerk, Kolm, and there was no real threat of force.

Police say three of the suspects held up the Mega Mart off Highway 93 and then led police on a chase reaching speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.

Auman, the driver of the vehicle, who crashed into three parked cars on Kirk Street, also faces a felony charge of fleeing police.

Hodges, Kolm, and Auman also face charges of obstructing an officer, and Ware is charged with felony bail jumping.

Bond was granted to all four suspects, and they're expected back in court next month.
