Deer Hunting Death

The Waushara County Sheriff now says a teenage hunter shot and killed by his grandfather covered his blaze orange clothing with a brown and white blanket.

On Monday Sheriff David Peterson identified the shooter as 63-year-old Gerald Ruck from Three Lakes.

Peterson says he mistook his 18-year-old grandson, David Ruck, for a deer while they hunted Sunday on private property in the Town of Saxeville that's west of Appleton.

The sheriff says the blanket covered the grandson's blaze orange clothing.

Peterson says the investigation shows it was a tragic accidental shooting.
