Two men are in custody accused in the fatal shootings of a Baraboo taxi cab driver and a woman in Middleton.
Police say the men are also responsible for the kidnapping and robbery of a Mauston man and leaving him tied up for several days in a rural Juneau County shed. He was found Thursday unconscious after the suspects told police where to look.
It was the suspects themselves who led police to the crimes. The men, ages 24 and 37, told workers at the Marriott Hotel in Middleton Wednesday night that they wanted to confess to some crimes.
Police later found the body of a woman shot in the head in some woods in Middleton. Authorities also say she was with the two men the night before when cab driver John Romberg was fatally shot. His body was found in his cab in Baraboo. They say the two men confessed to killing Romberg.
Early Thursday morning police were led to a remote shed in Juneau County where they found a 45-year-old Mauston man bound with duct tape, alive but unconscious. He was reported missing nearly a week ago.
No other details surrounding the circumstances of the three crimes were released by authorities.
