Nissan is recalling more than 700,000 cars. The automaker is recalling Altima and Sentra cars because their engines may suddenly stop running.

The models affected by the recall are 2002, 2005 and 2006 Altimas and Sentras with 2.5 liter engines.

The problem deals with the crankshaft position sensor that can overheat. When that happens, the sensor briefly stops sending signals, possibly causing the engine to stop.
