A former La Crosse man already serving time for arson is sentenced to 40 years in prison for setting a fire that killed his uncle.
Thirty-three-year-old Todd Weyher was charged in the October 1999 fire at his grandfather's home in rural La Crosse County near the village of St. Joseph that took the life of his uncle, Robert Meinhart.
Weyher pleaded guilty to homicide by arson, but innocent by reason of mental disease. A La Crosse County jury determined Weyher knew right from wrong when setting the fire.
Weyher is already serving ten to 20 years in prison in Michigan for setting fires there.
