The director of Wisconsin's immunization program is asking state residents in high-risk groups not to put off their flu vaccinations.
Dan Hopensperger says he's hearing stories that some people in high-risk groups are skipping on shots because they feel healthy. Those in high-risk groups include infants, children between six months and two years old, adults 65 and older and those younger than 65 with a chronic illness such as heart or lung disease. Also included are women who will be pregnant during the flu season.
Hopensperger says the state is expecting an additional 38,000 doses by the end of the week.
