A La Crosse County supervisor wants the county board to drop its prayer at the beginning of each meeting.
Supervisor Sharon Hampson says the county board is a unit of government, not Sunday school.
Hampson's introduced a measure to eliminate the invocation, a tradition at county board meetings.
Board chairman Steve Doyle says he's tried to bring different religious viewpoints before the board for the invocation, including liberal Christian ministers, Hmong community leader and Indian chief.
It's unclear how much support Hampson has for dropping the prayer. The board delayed action on the matter until next month.
