The medical conditions of both survivors of Sunday's shooting rampage have improved.

Lauren Hesebeck has been released from Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.

Terry Willers' condition has been upgraded from serious to fair at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Willers and Hesebeck survived the deer camp shooting that left six others in their hunting party dead.

Willers was the first person shot Sunday when a hunter opened fire on private land in Sawyer County.

As he lay wounded on the ground, Willers managed to radio to others that they were under fire.

Chai Vang, the 36 year-old suspected gunman is being held in the Sawyer County Jail.

He has a criminal record that includes a charge of second degree assault in a case where the victim says Vang made threats while waving a gun.

The Attorney General's Office will handle his prosecution because of the magnitude of the case.
