Apparent Murder Confession Near Hayward

Police say a 17-year-old boy has admitted to fatally stabbing a man during a party on the Lac Courte Oreilles reservation.

The Sawyer County sheriff's department says 24-year-old Timothy Hernandez, of Hayward, died after being stabbed in the chest early yesterday.

The department says the teen, who lives on the reservation, has admitted to the stabbing.

He is being held in the Sawyer County jail.

Five others who were held for questioning have been released.
