The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is issuing an air quality health advisory for the entire state of Wisconsin except the southeast corner.
The advisory is being issued because of persistent elevated levels of fine particles in the air.
These particles come primarily from combustion sources, such as car exhaust, fireplaces and factories.
Current weather conditions leading to this advisory are most, stagnant air mass over the upper Midwest has trapped fine particles near the ground for several days.
The air mass is expected to remain in place until the end of this week.
Those with heart or lung disease, asthma, older adults and children are advised to cut back on strenuous activities during the air quality advisory.
To check for updates on current air quality information, call the DNR hotline 1-966-324-5924.
