A man and a woman are being held in Jackson County after bad checks at a casino led to a high speed chase along I-94 this afternoon.
Officers say the man they eventually arrested was passing the checks this afternoon at Majestic Pines Casino in Black River Falls. When police tried to arrest him there, the man and a woman he was with got in a car and drove back toward the interstate.
"A high-speed chase developed between here and black river falls," said Sergant Steve Miescke of the Eau Claire Sheriff's Department. "Speeds up to 90 miles per hour. We partially disabled the vehicle by using stop sticks, and it did crash with a Jackson County car."
When the car finally stopped near Eau Claire, the suspect tried to run away, but officers arrested him and his passenger.
