Gov. Doyle Visits Eau Claire

The Governor visited a third grade classroom and touted what he said would be a more than eleven million dollar increase in funding for Eau Claire schools under his budget.

He also responded to Republicans who oppose his plan to take money from the transportation budget in order to fund education.

Doyle argues he has proposed the largest transportation budget in state history and that the $250 million used for education is money well spent.

Under the Governor's plan the state would cover two thirds the cost of public education and would help pay for programs like Eau Claire's four year old kindergarten.
