The Eau Claire County Victim's Services program is looking for people to become trained crisis responders.
The volunteers would help law enforcement at the scene of violent crimes by providing extra support for victims.
Victim's services says the group will be a helpful asset to their department.
"The crisis responder is someone who is basically a compassionate and empathetic listening ear to help that person find their feet after being victimized in a violent crime," says Leslie Mueller-Johnson a crisis response specialist.
An orientation session has been schedule for those interested on February 22. The program will require at least 15 hours of training, and organizers say they would like to have the team active by April 1.
