The state Tourism Department is dropping a song meant for its new summer ad campaign.
Questions were raised about the song in recent weeks because it sounded like a 1995 song by the British group Supergrass.
Tourism Department spokesman Jerry Huffman says officials believe the song didn't violate copyright laws.
But he says the similarities between them generated publicity that became a distraction to the department.
Milwaukee area composer John Tanner wrote the jingle and will write a new one. Huffman says the new jingle won't cost the state anything.
