FRANKLIN, Wis. (AP) -- Police have arrested a 49-year-old man in the hit-and-run crash that killed a couple who just stepped out of their car to attend a Christmas party in Franklin.

Captain Clark Groen also identified the couple today as Gary and Barbara Kitchen, of West Allis. They are 53 and 52 years old respectively.

The couple was killed in the suburban Milwaukee city around six Christmas night.

Groen says they have impounded a full-size van they think was involved.

He says a tipster led them to the man, who has given them a statement. Police are not releasing what he said.

Groen says they're still investigating whether the man was intoxicated.

He expects to refer the case to the district attorney Thursday or Friday.
