Ron Kind held a town hall meeting Tuesday to discuss his opposition to President Bush's plan to privatize social security.
Everybody speaking at the meeting said it would destroy social security as we know it.
Kind says there is no immediate danger to the social security fund, and he says now is the time to fix future problems but he says there is a better way than the president's plan.
"The sooner we can fix it the better, we should do it now rather than later, but we should do it right not wrong which means protecting social security and doing it in a fiscially responsible manner."
Kind says the most disturbing part about bush's plan is borrowing up to five trillion dollars to begin the private accounts.
Kind says that will only add to an already record high deficit.
