A $5 million construction project on the Clairemont Avenue bridge over the Chippewa River is slated to begin next week.
DOT officials are telling motorists to expect delays or use an alternate route.
The two lane westbound bridge will be torn down and replaced with a three lane bridge, near Menomonie Street.
All traffic will be routed onto the eastbound bridge during construction. The bike and pedestrian bridge will be closed at least until July 4.
"In order to move people around, we're offering a shuttle service where people will be able to come to a location, call and within a few minutes, a shuttle will be available to get people across the bridge so people can continue on their way," says Brent Pickard.
The shuttle service will run continuously on weekdays from 6-9 A.M. and from 3-6 P.M. For more information, call the DOT at 836-2399.
