Life after politics for former Governor Tommy Thompson will mix law, business and teaching.

Thompson, a Republican, says he'll teach part time on global and medical diplomacy -- just where hasn't been finalized.

He'll also join a law firm out of state and get involved in business opportunities in Texas, Washington, California and Wisconsin.

The former U-S Health and Human Services secretary says lobbying would be too much like working in the public sector. He served as governor from 1986 to 2000.

After spending 18 years being following by security and being chauffeured, Thompson says he's adjusting to private life, like standing in the security line at the airport and having his shoes X-rayed
